Drown Your Sorrows
03:50
|
|||
Lets go out and drown our sorrows and forget and have some fun
Lets go out until tomorrow and be thankful for the sun.
I saw your face across that crowded room 't'was melting through my tears
Then I couldn't find you anywhere despite my desperate fear to love
And it was cold outside and I was cold inside
And you were nowhere to be found and I could've cried
Left behind with my worries and my faults
Someday soon I wil break through these walls
And you will find me I will see you and embrace you
I will tell you that I want you and I need you
I can't see another way for me

Things Change
04:02
|
|||
1234 then some more what will these numbers bring right through my door?
What do these days hold in store this time around?
You called me, you said to me: why can't things be like they used to be?
I said things change some for the better, some for the worse,
But you'll never know until the year comes around
You'll never know until the year comes round the bend
So until then hold on.
5678 I was too late to say what I really meant to say to you
Now time has passed and we've both come through unharmed
I saw you I caught you glance away and I thought to myself isn't it strange
How things change; some for the better, some for the worse,
But you'll never know until the year comes around,
You'll never know until the year comes round the bend
So until then hold on.

Room 440
03:38
|
|||
There is a sacred place where the music comes alive
The sounds echo and energize and sweet vibrations tantalise
I dream about this place and the souls that it's revealed
The music here will never die and the smell will never yield
With white walls and black kit, there's no place quite like it
The heating here it never works, but still I quite like it
Grey cabinet master-lock, no-one knows what lies within
It sits beside the bin and holds the secret to our sins.
Welcome to 440, it's room that lets us know that we are still alive
440 is where we go, music must be made so that we are not alone
The purity of its four walls, the honesty of it's pit falls can make you see
The people passing by this place they do not understand
They've never felt it's warm embrace or music hold their hand
It's filled with three black music stands a Mapex Pro M kit
A Peavy PA system and some broken mic stand bits
The harder that you try the more the room will give you back
You get the strangest feeling that the room can give a shit
Sometimes in the room you may feel a little sick,
But not enough to quit, if the music is legit!

Paranoia Wins Again
03:53
|
|||
When you came home today, yeah you came straight to me
Why is it that I can't believe?
You told me of all your days, all the dealing and the craze
All the people and their ways.
All the things that you did, all the things that you said,
All the people that you met.
All the things that made you high, all the things that made you cry
Still for me the question why?
And these thoughts they come again and these thoughts I can't contain
Paranoia wins again, now I'm calling out your name
It's something I can't change now 'cause it's engrained now,
I wish that I could change something in my brain now, but it's too late now.
When you sat next to me you told me you could easily be
With someone else if you weren't with me
And even though I trust you so and to me your heart will always show
I couldn't bear it if you were to go
You, you've seen me at my worst, but brought me to my best

A Strange Delusion
05:08
|
|||
From the right side of my head to left side of my brain
The waves are passing through my mind come sunshine or come rain
It's easy to explain it, but it's harder to attain it
This symphony of range and fusion, babe it's such a strange delusion.
Everyone is following the same tracks in the road
That lead us to ambiguous locations far from home
And everyday it's the same old game it
Forces you to lose you freedom, ties you to your chains of reason.
Every day its could captivate your eye,
Every sound can take you to the sky until you fall
Take it to the edge of you're mind where you see yourself
Falling from the edge of despair.
It conceals the whims of mad men who have seen the sound surround
Reveals the paths they've taken when they took to the underground
It's easy to explore it, but it's harder to ignore it
This symphony of range and fusion, babe it's such a strange delusion.
Forever more I'll see these sounds as something more,
Something whole that I can cling to when I fall.
It's all inside my head and I will let it take me to the edge.

The Way We Have To Live
05:11
|
|||
I saw you walking down a side street, you were dragging your feet.
I saw you digging in your pockets, trying to make ends meet.
Then it's alright, for a short while, when the cash comes in...
Then you spend spend spend and do it all again
And you feel deranged and you don't want change
And it feels good and you feel whole, 'cause you can go where you want
You can spend it on your temporary, spend it on your imaginary,
Spend it on your empty happiness.
'Cause we're all slaves to the things they say we need
And we're all slaves to things we think we want
And we're all slaves to the way we have to live.
And then it's gone gone gone and now you're clinging on
And it takes so long you think you can't hold on
And then you see that you don't need, that you can live and you can breathe
And you attribute all your fears and worries to something so inconsequential
Something that confirms that we're not free
We've been waiting for the summertime to come melting through the winter time
And all the while your working for you daily wage
The earth is moving but you just stand still
The sky is clear but you can't see far
'Cause all the while you just waiting for your pay day
'Cause we are born into this world where we soon learn
That it's not worth trying hard to free your body
Just try hard to be somebody, 'cause it's not easy when we live this way.

Mclowrus Perth and Kinross, UK
We formed in college around September 2011 and started writing and gigging in Perth College to build up our profile with a view to getting our own gigs, which happened a few months later when we began gigging regularly in Dunkeld and Birnam, Perth and Aviemore; where we were asked to play at a Battle of the Bands fundraiser which we won the chance to play at 2013 MV Festival. ... more
